Appearance

This product is a film-coated tablet, which appears white after removing the coating.

Usage and Dosage

Oral. Streptococcal infection in adults: 125-250 mg once, once every 6-8 hours, for a course of 10 days. Pneumococcal infection: 250-500 mg once, once every 6 hours, for a course of at least 2 days after the fever subsides. Staphylococcal infection, spirochete infection (Fensen angina): 250-500 mg once, once every 6-8 hours. Prevention of recurrence of rheumatic fever: 250 mg once, twice a day. Prevention of endocarditis: Take 2g of this product orally 1 hour before tooth extraction or upper respiratory tract surgery, and take 1g after 6 hours (half the dose for children under 27kg). Children, according to body weight, take 2.5-9.3mg/kg once, once every 4 hours; or 3.75-14mg/kg once, once every 6 hours; or 5-18.7mg/kg once.

Adverse Reactions

Allergic reactions Possible allergic reactions include urticaria, angioedema, erythema multiforme, exfoliative dermatitis, fever, arthralgia, anaphylactic shock and anaphylactic reactions (asthma, purpura, gastrointestinal symptoms). The above symptoms occur less frequently and are weaker than in the case of parenteral administration. Allergic reactions in patients with mold diseases may be caused by the co-allergenicity of metabolites of skin fungi and penicillin. Gastrointestinal symptoms include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, bloating, and sometimes stomatitis and glossitis. If diarrhea occurs during treatment, it may be pseudomembranous colitis (see Precautions). Blood system abnormalities include eosinophilia, positive Coombstest (direct), hemolytic anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia and agranulocytosis, which are all very rare.

Precautions

It is contraindicated for patients with positive penicillin skin test reaction, those who are allergic to this product and other penicillins, and those with infectious mononucleosis.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: Not clear yet. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: 1. This product can enter the fetus through the placenta, so pregnant women should use it with caution. 2. This product can be secreted into breast milk, which may cause sensitization to infants and cause diarrhea, rash, candida infection, etc., so lactating women should use it with caution or stop breastfeeding during medication. Precautions for the elderly: Elderly patients should adjust the dosage or medication interval according to their renal function.

Drug Interactions

1. Probenecid, aspirin, indomethacin, phenylbutazone, and sulfonamides can reduce the excretion of this product in the renal tubules, thereby increasing the blood concentration of this product, prolonging the blood elimination half-life (t1/2), and the toxicity may also increase. 2. When this product is used in combination with allopurinol, the incidence of rash increases significantly, so the combination should be avoided. 3. This product should not be used in combination with acetaldehyde dehydrogenase inhibitors such as disulfiram. 4. When this product is used in combination with chloramphenicol for bacterial meningitis, the incidence of long-term sequelae is higher than when either is used alone. 5. This product can stimulate estrogen metabolism or reduce its enterohepatic circulation, thereby reducing the effectiveness of oral contraceptives. 6. Antibiotics such as chloramphenicol, erythromycin, tetracyclines, and antibacterial drugs such as sulfonamides can interfere with the bactericidal activity of this product, so it is not suitable to be used in combination with this product, especially in the treatment of meningitis or when bactericidal drugs are urgently needed.
