Sodium citrate anticoagulant
Function and Efficacy
Also known as AC formula (4.0% sodium citrate), it is an in vitro anticoagulant. The sodium citrate ions of this product react with calcium ions in the blood to form a soluble complex, calcium citrate, which is difficult to dissociate. This complex is easily soluble in water but difficult to dissociate, and the coagulation process is inhibited, thereby preventing blood from coagulating.

Appearance
This product is a colorless clear liquid.
Indication
Only used for in vitro anticoagulation of apheresis raw plasma.
Usage and Dosage
The ratio of anticoagulant to blood at 4.0% concentration is 1:16
Adverse Reactions
At normal transfusion speed, this product will not cause adverse reactions. When the transfusion speed is too fast or the transfusion volume is too large (more than 1000ml), the recipient may experience numbness of the lips, convulsions of the hands and feet, and even bleeding tendency, decreased blood pressure, ventricular fibrillation or arrest due to hypocalcemia and metabolic alkalosis.
Precautions
The collected plasma shall not be used directly for clinical purposes.
