Oxaprozin Enteric-coated Capsules

This product belongs to the propionic acid class of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects. It reduces the synthesis of inflammatory mediators prostaglandins by inhibiting cyclooxygenase, so that the swelling and pain of local tissues caused by prostaglandins can be controlled. The anti-inflammatory effect of this product is stronger than ibuprofen, and the analgesic effect is better than ibuprofen, phenylbutazone and aspirin, while the gastric mucosal damage effect is lower than aspirin and phenylbutazone. It causes slight damage to the digestive tract, and the efficacy is long-lasting. This drug has a central muscle relaxant effect. Acute toxicity: The LD50 of mice by oral administration is 1342 mg/kg, and that of intraperitoneal injection is 342 mg/kg. Rats were given 25-400 mg/kg/day by oral administration for six months. The high-dose group had inhibition of weight gain and digestive tract reactions, mild anemia, hepatocyte enlargement, and renal toxicity.

The main ingredient of this product is oxaprozin, whose chemical name is 4,5-diphenyloxazole-2-propionic acid.

This product is an enteric-coated capsule with white or off-white contents, odorless and tasteless.

It is suitable for rheumatoid arthritis, deformed arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, frozen shoulder, cervical shoulder and wrist syndrome. It is also used for gouty arthritis, trauma and postoperative analgesia.

1Usual oral dose for adults. (1) For rheumatism, take 0.4g (2 tablets) once a day, orally after meals, with a maximum daily dose of 0.6g (3 tablets). (2) For analgesia, take 0.2-0.4g (1-2 tablets) once, or twice if necessary. 2Usual dose for children has not been established.

1 Gastrointestinal reactions include stomach pain, stomach discomfort, nausea, poor appetite, diarrhea, constipation, etc., which are the main adverse reactions of this product, with an incidence of about 5% to 10%. Most of them can be tolerated without stopping the drug or taking symptomatic drugs. 2 Rarely, there are headaches, dizziness, and transient liver function abnormalities.

It is contraindicated for patients with peptic ulcer, severe liver and kidney disease, patients allergic to other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and patients with granulocytopenia and thrombocytopenia.

1. In patients with decreased renal function, the clearance rate of digoxin will be reduced, the blood concentration of the drug will increase, and its toxicity will be increased. 2. When used in large doses to treat tumors, it will affect the excretion of methotrexate, increase the blood concentration of methotrexate and cause poisoning. 3. Affect the antihypertensive effect of antihypertensive drugs (angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors and beta-receptor blockers). 4. Reduce the diuretic and sodium excretion effects of diuretics.
