Chenodeoxycholic acid capsules

Function and Efficacy

The main function of CDCA is to reduce the saturation of cholesterol in bile. After taking CDCA for most patients (when CDCA accounts for 70% of bile salts in bile), lipids return to the micelle state and cholesterol is in an unsaturated state, thereby dissolving and falling off the cholesterol in the stones. Large doses of CDCA (10-15 mg/kg per day) can inhibit the synthesis of cholesterol and increase the secretion of bile in patients with cholelithiasis, but the secretion of bile salts and phospholipids remains unchanged.
