Function and Efficacy

This product has antibacterial effects on the following obligate anaerobes. Gram-negative anaerobic bacilli: Bacteroides fragilis, Bacteroides vulgaris, Bacteroides gibbsii, Bacteroides ovale, Bacteroides polymorpha, etc. and Clostridium. Gram-positive anaerobic bacilli: Eubacterium, Clostridium. Gram-positive anaerobic cocci: Peptococcus and Peptostreptococcus. This product has strong activity against protozoa, such as Trichomonas vaginalis; it has activity against ameba and Trichomonas lamblia. The drug's mode of action is to cut off DNA chains and inhibit DNA synthesis, thereby interfering with and interrupting the growth and reproduction of anaerobic microorganisms.

Appearance

This product is off-white to light yellow tablets.

Indication

This product can be used for: 1. Urogenital trichomoniasis, such as vaginal trichomoniasis, etc.; 2. Intestinal and extraintestinal amebiasis, such as amebiasis and amoebic liver abscess, etc.; 3. Giardiasis; 4. Various infections caused by sensitive anaerobic bacteria, such as bacteremia, septicemia, abdominal postoperative infection, etc.; 5. Prevention of gynecological and surgical postoperative infections caused by anaerobic bacteria.

Usage and Dosage

This product is a dispersible tablet, which can be taken orally/swallowed directly, or put an appropriate amount of this product into about 100 ml of water, shake and disperse it, and then take it orally. Take it 1 hour before meals. The dosage for adults and children over 12 years old is as follows: 1. Treatment of sensitive anaerobic infections: 0.64 grams three times a day for 7 consecutive days. 2. As a preventive medication: start taking it 24 hours before surgery, the dose is 0.64 grams each time. 3. Amebiasis: 1) Intestinal amebiasis: 1.28 grams three times a day for 5 consecutive days. 2) Chronic amebic hepatitis: 0.64 grams three times a day for 5-10 consecutive days. 3) Amebic liver abscess and other forms of extraintestinal amebiasis: 0.64 grams three times a day for 5 consecutive days. 4. Urogenital trichomoniasis: 0.32 grams three times a day for 7 consecutive days; or, a single dose of 3.2 grams. 5. Trichomoniasis: Take 3.2 grams once a day for 7 consecutive days.

Adverse Reactions

Occasionally, there have been reports of bad breath, tongue coating, gastrointestinal discomfort, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, ataxia, rash, itching, ataxia, dark urine (caused by metabolism), etc., but they are extremely rare. A few cases of peripheral nervous system problems have been reported in high-dose or long-term treatment.

Precautions

1. Those who are allergic to this product are prohibited from using it. 2. Pregnant and lactating women are prohibited from using it. 3. Those with active central nervous system diseases and blood diseases are prohibited from using it.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: There is currently a lack of detailed research data. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant and lactating women are prohibited from using this product. Precautions for the elderly: Pay attention to liver function.

Drug Interactions

1. This product can enhance the anticoagulant effect of warfarin and other drugs. 2. Oxytetracycline can interfere with the effect of this product in clearing vaginal Trichomonas.
