Gliclazide Capsules
Function and Efficacy
This product is a second-generation sulfonylurea hypoglycemic drug with a strong effect. Its mechanism is to selectively act on pancreatic islet b cells, promote insulin secretion, and increase insulin release after eating glucose, so that the production and output of glycogen are inhibited. This product has been proven through animal experiments and clinical use to reduce platelet aggregation and adhesion, and help prevent and treat diabetic microangiopathy.

Appearance
This product is a capsule, and the contents are white granules.
Indication
Type 2 diabetes.
Usage and Dosage
The initial oral dose is 40-80 mg, 1-2 times a day, and then adjusted to 80-240 mg a day, divided into 2-3 doses, depending on the blood sugar level. After blood sugar is controlled, the daily maintenance dose can be changed. Elderly patients can reduce the dose as appropriate.
Adverse Reactions
Most patients tolerate this product well. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal symptoms, such as abdominal pain, nausea, dizziness and rash. Hypoglycemia occurs rarely and is mild.
Precautions
1. Patients with impaired liver and kidney function are prohibited from using this product. 2. Patients who are allergic to sulfonylurea drugs are prohibited from using this product.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Not yet clear. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Contraindicated for pregnant and lactating women. Precautions for the elderly: Start with a small dose and gradually adjust the dose.
Drug Interactions
When used in combination with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (especially salicylates), sulfonamide antibiotics, coumarin anticoagulants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, b-receptor blockers, benzodiazepines, tetracycline, chloramphenicol, dicyclohexine, clofibrate, ethanol and other drugs, the dosage should be reduced to avoid hypoglycemia.
