Artesunate Tablets
Function and Efficacy
Artesunate tablets are a derivative of target=_blank artemisinin. It acts on the erythrocytic stage of malarial parasites, affects the surface membrane and mitochondrial function of the parasite, blocks its supply of host erythrocyte substances as nutrition and kills the asexual body of malarial parasites. It has a rapid effect and is effective against multidrug-resistant target=_blank malaria. It has a strong and rapid killing effect on the erythrocytic stage of malarial parasites and can quickly control clinical attacks and symptoms. The mechanism of action of artemisinin is not very clear, but it mainly interferes with the mitochondrial function of the surface membrane of malarial parasites. Artemisinin changes the membrane structure of malarial parasites by affecting their ultrastructure in the erythrocytic stage. Due to the effect on the food vacuole membrane of the malarial parasite surface membrane, the malarial parasite's nutrient intake is blocked. When the malarial parasite loses a large amount of cytoplasm and nutrients and cannot be replenished, it will die quickly. Its mode of action is to generate unstable organic free radicals and/or other electrophilic mediators through its internal peroxide (dioxygen) bridge, mediated by the free iron produced after the decomposition of target=_blank hemoglobin, and then form covalent adducts with the protein of malarial parasites, causing the malarial parasite to die. Toxicology: Animal toxicology experiments show that this product has certain embryotoxicity, which manifests as embryo absorption.
