Riluzole Tablets

Function and Efficacy

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or motor neuron disease, is a progressive, fatal disease. There are two forms of the disease: limb-onset or bulbar-onset. Both involve loss of upper and lower motor neurons, leading to progressive and irreversible muscle wasting and weakness. Although the pathogenesis of the disease is not fully understood, glutamate toxicity is a possible cause of neuronal damage. Therefore, drugs that modulate glutamate levels in the central nervous system have been investigated as potential treatments.

Ingredients

The main ingredient of this product is riluzole, and its chemical name is: 2-chloro-6-trifluoromethoxybenzothiazole.
