Clonidine Hydrochloride Eye Drops

Clonidine is an α receptor agonist that stimulates the peripheral sympathetic nerve α2 receptors, inhibits their activity through negative feedback, reduces aqueous humor production, and lowers intraocular pressure. It has no effect on pupil size, light response, and accommodation function.

This product is a colorless clear liquid.

It is used for primary open-angle glaucoma and angle-closure glaucoma, especially for glaucoma patients who cannot tolerate mydriasis drugs.

Apply to eyes 2 to 3 times a day.

1. This product is easily absorbed by the whole body and may cause dry mouth, dizziness, nausea, slow heartbeat, decreased blood pressure, etc. 2. This product has a blood pressure lowering effect, which can reduce the intraocular artery perfusion pressure and reduce the blood flow in the optic nerve head. Therefore, it is contraindicated for patients with hypotension and hypotension glaucoma.

It is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to clonidine or have hypotension glaucoma.

Precautions for children: Safety and efficacy are not yet clear. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Human studies are not sufficient. This product can be secreted through breast milk. It can only be used for pregnant and lactating women when necessary. Precautions for the elderly: The elderly are more sensitive to the antihypertensive effect, so the dosage should be reduced when used, and care should be taken to prevent postural hypotension.
