Kitasamycin Tablets

Function and Efficacy

[Pharmacology and Toxicology]: This product is a macrolide antibiotic. Its mechanism of action is similar to that of erythromycin, and its antibacterial spectrum is also similar to that of erythromycin, but its antibacterial activity against most Gram-positive bacteria is slightly worse. Some erythromycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus are still sensitive to kitasamycin. This product also has considerable activity against diphtheria, tetanus, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, pertussis, Rickettsia and Chlamydia trachomatis. [Pharmacokinetics]: This product is well absorbed after oral administration. After a single oral dose of 400 mg, the peak blood concentration (Cmax) is 0.69 mg/L 0.5 hours later. It is widely distributed in organs, with particularly high concentrations in the liver and bile, and higher concentrations in tissues such as the lungs, kidneys, and muscles than in blood. This product is mainly excreted through the hepatobiliary system.
