Function and Efficacy

Pharmacological effects: Xylitol can replenish body heat and improve sugar metabolism. Xylitol is a normal intermediate in human sugar metabolism. Its metabolism in the body does not depend on the participation of insulin. It can directly participate in sugar metabolism through the cell membrane and will not increase blood sugar concentration. Its sweetness and heat production are similar to those of glucose. Xylitol also has the effect of inhibiting the production of ketone bodies and can reduce the production of plasma fatty acids.

Appearance

This product is a colorless clear liquid.

Indication

Sugar substitute for diabetics.

Usage and Dosage

Intravenous drip. 25-50g (calculated as xylitol) at a time. Or follow the doctor's advice.

Adverse Reactions

1. Too fast a drip of xylitol can cause metabolic acidosis, leading to serious reactions such as kidney and brain damage. 2. Too much and too fast a sodium chloride infusion can cause water and sodium retention, causing edema, increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, chest tightness, dyspnea, and even acute left heart failure.

Precautions

1. Patients who are allergic to any of the ingredients in this product are prohibited from using this product. 2. Patients with brain, kidney, and heart dysfunction are prohibited from using this product. 3. Patients with low plasma protein are prohibited from using this product. 4. Patients with insulin-induced hypoglycemia are prohibited from using this product.

Drug Interactions

Xylitol can be used with a variety of injections without changes in appearance such as pH and color. However, when mixed with leucopeniain, cefuroxime, compound danshen, vinorelbine, ACTH, PAS-Na, mitomycin, and thiopental sodium, it can cause color changes. After xylitol is mixed with lactose erythromycin (dilution 4 mg/ml), the pH drops from 6.0 to 4.9 within 24 hours, but it is still within the normal pH range. Although the combined use of the two has no effect on xylitol itself, it can degrade erythromycin and make it ineffective. Other macrolide drugs should not be used in combination with it. When used with sodium para-aminosalicylate injection, the decarboxylation and oxidation reactions cause sodium para-aminosalicylate to be gradually oxidized into diphenoquinone, causing color changes. The color changes from colorless to diphenylquinone within 0-24 hours.

Storage

Keep in a sealed container. The validity period is tentatively set at one year.
