Function and Efficacy

This product has moderate antibacterial effect on aerobic Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Enterobacteriaceae, Proteus, Acinetobacter, Haemophilus influenzae, Morganella, etc., and is particularly effective against Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Among Gram-positive bacteria, it is effective against Group A Streptococcus and Staphylococcus epidermidis. Among atypical pathogens, it is sensitive to ureaplasma urealyticum. t1/2=2.5 hours. It is often used to treat uncomplicated gonorrhea such as urethritis, proctitis, acute gonorrhea, cervicitis, etc. caused by penicillin-resistant bacteria and patients with penicillin resistance. It is mainly used for urinary tract infections caused by gonococci and is suitable for patients resistant to penicillin, tetracycline, etc.

Indication

Usage and Dosage

For intramuscular injection only. For adults, it is used for cervical, rectal or urethral gonorrhea Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection, a single dose of 2g intramuscular injection; for disseminated gonorrhea, a single intramuscular injection of 2g, once every 12 hours, for a total of 3 days. The maximum dose is 4g, injected intramuscularly on both sides of the buttocks. It is forbidden for children and newborns. For children weighing less than 45kg, a single dose of 40mg/kg intramuscular injection is given according to body weight; for those weighing more than 45kg, a single dose of 2g is given intramuscularly. Before use, add 3.2ml of 0.9% benzyl alcohol injection for every 2g of the product and shake it to make a suspension.

Adverse Reactions

Some patients may occasionally experience pain at the injection site, short-term dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and insomnia; occasionally allergic reactions such as fever and rash, and decreased hemoglobin and hematocrit, decreased creatinine clearance, and increased alkaline phosphatase, urea nitrogen, and serum aminotransferase. There are also cases of decreased urine output.

Precautions

Contraindicated in patients with a history of allergy to penicillins or a positive penicillin skin test
