Pharmacological action: This product is a vitamin drug. It has the function of promoting growth and maintaining the normal function of epithelial tissues such as skin, conjunctiva, cornea, etc., and participates in the synthesis of rhodopsin, enhancing the photosensitivity of the retina; it participates in many oxidation processes in the body, especially the oxidation of unsaturated fatty acids. When vitamin A is deficient, growth stops, bones grow poorly, reproductive function declines, skin becomes rough and dry, cornea softens, and dry eye and night blindness occur. Appearance
The content of this product is yellow to dark yellow oily liquid.
Indication
Used to treat vitamin A deficiency symptoms such as night blindness, dry eyes, keratomelachic disease and rough skin.
Usage and Dosage
1 Severe vitamin A deficiency: Oral, 100,000 units per day for adults, change to 50,000 units per day after 3 days, give it for 2 weeks, then 10,000 to 20,000 units per day, and then take it for 2 months. 2 Mild vitamin A deficiency: 30,000 to 50,000 units per day, orally in 2 to 3 times, reduce the dosage after symptoms improve.
Adverse Reactions
No adverse reactions were observed at the recommended dose. However, excessive intake of vitamin A can cause severe poisoning or even death. Acute poisoning occurs 6 hours after a large amount of vitamin A is ingested (more than 1.5 million units for adults and more than 75,000 to 300,000 units for children). The patient will experience abnormal excitement or agitation, dizziness, drowsiness, diplopia, severe headache, vomiting, diarrhea, peeling (especially lips and palms). Infants may develop raised lumps on their heads, and have agitation, convulsions, vomiting and other symptoms of increased intracranial pressure, hydrocephalus, and pseudotumor cerebri. Precautions
Use with caution in chronic renal failure.
Drug Interactions
1. Aluminum hydroxide can reduce bile acid in the upper part of the small intestine, affecting the absorption of vitamin A. 2. Oral contraceptives can increase the concentration of plasma vitamin A. 3. Sucralfate can interfere with the absorption of vitamin A. 4. When used in combination with vitamin E, it can promote the absorption of vitamin A, increase the storage in the liver, accelerate utilization and reduce toxicity, but a large amount of vitamin E can deplete the storage of vitamin A in the body. 5.
