Appearance

This product is light yellow transparent capsule.

Indication

1. For newborns, premature infants, and low birth weight infants born to mothers who do not eat fortified milk powder or have severe fat malabsorption. 2. Routine use of this product in immature infants and low birth weight infants can prevent hemolytic anemia caused by vitamin E deficiency, and can reduce the formation of retrobulbar fibrous tissue (which can cause blindness) and bronchial-pulmonary system dysplasia caused by oxygen poisoning. However, some people believe that the above effects need further research and confirmation. 3. For adjuvant treatment of progressive muscular dystrophy.

Usage and Dosage

1 Adults: (1) Daily requirement of vitamin E: 10 mg (16.7 U) for male adults, 8 mg (13 U) for female adults, 10 mg (16.7 U) for pregnant women, and 11-12 mg (18-20 U) for nursing mothers. The above doses can be provided in normal diet. (2) Vitamin E deficiency: The therapeutic dose varies with the degree of deficiency. Common dose: 10-100 mg for adults, 2-3 times a day. 2 Children: (1) Daily requirement of vitamin E: 3-6 mg for newborns to 3 years old (same for alpha-TE, 5-10 U), 7 mg (11.7 U) for 4-10 years old. (2) Vitamin E deficiency: 1 mg/kg per day for children, 15-20 mg per day for premature infants. Infants with chronic cholestasis should take 15-25 mg of water-soluble vitamin E preparation orally every day.

Adverse Reactions

Long-term excessive intake (0.4-0.8 grams per day) may cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, blurred vision, chapped skin, cheilitis, angular cheilitis, diarrhea, breast enlargement, and fatigue.

Precautions

It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to this product.

Drug Interactions

1 This product can promote the absorption, utilization and liver storage of vitamin A. 2 Drugs that reduce or affect fat absorption, such as cholestyramine, neomycin and sucralfate, can interfere with the absorption of this product and should not be taken together. 3 Patients with iron deficiency anemia have an increased need for this product when supplementing iron. 4 Oral contraceptives can accelerate the metabolism of vitamin E and lead to vitamin E deficiency. 5 When estrogen is used with this product, if the dosage is large and the treatment course is long, it can induce thrombophlebitis. 6 Avoid using this product with dicoumarol and its derivatives to prevent the occurrence of hypoprothrombinemia. 7 If you are taking other medications, please consult a physician or pharmacist before using this product.
