Description

Product Detail

Propylene glycol is the raw material of unsaturated polyester resin, epoxy resin and polyurethane resin, and also the raw material of plasticizer, surfactant, emulsifier and emulsion breaker. In food industry etc., it is used as solvent for flavor and food color, wetting agent for tobacco, preservative for mold and fruit ripening, and drug excipient. It can also be used as antifreeze agent, heat carrier and food machinery lubricant.
The toxicity and irritation are very small and no victims have been found so far. LD50 7000-8000mg/kg intravenously and intraperitoneally in rats and 2800mg/kg orally. but there are reports of the risk of fatal pseudosomnia and renal disorders when added to food and beverages in too high a dose at one time.
This product is not spontaneous combustion, but it is a combustible material. Long-term storage does not deteriorate, but the opening will absorb moisture. Storage and transportation containers should be made of galvanized iron drums, aluminum or stainless steel. It should be stored and transported according to the regulations of general low toxicity chemicals.
