This chemical is soluble in water, alcohol, and ether. It has a boiling point of 163.5 degrees Celsius and a melting point of -7.9 degrees Celsius. Butyric Acid is flammable and can form explosive mixtures with air. It reacts with strong oxidizing agents and bases.
