Tetrahexyldecanol ascorbate has many functions as a cosmetic ingredient, including skin lightening, promoting collagen synthesis, and inhibiting lipid peroxidation. As a derivative of vitamin C, tetrahexyldecanol ascorbate is stable at high temperatures and has good solubility in oil. Tetrahexyldecanol ascorbate has excellent skin absorption and is decomposed into free vitamin C in the skin to achieve physiological functions. Tetrahexyldecanol ascorbate is approved as a drug-like activity in Chemicalbook Japan (at a concentration of 3%), and is also registered as a skin lightening ingredient in South Korea (at a concentration of 2%). AT2H is an oil-soluble vitamin C derivative with antioxidant, melanin inhibition and whitening effects. It has high stability and is not easily oxidized. It acts like VC and is easily absorbed by the skin. The absorption rate is 16.5 times that of water-soluble vitamin C.

Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate works as a powerful antioxidant and whitening agent, with both anti-acne and anti-aging capabilities. It’s a potent, oil soluble form of Vitamin C Ester. Like other forms of Vitamin C, it helps prevent cellular aging by inhibiting the cross-linking of collagen, oxidation of proteins, and lipid peroxidation. It also works synergistically with the antioxidant Vitamin E, and has demonstrated superior percutaneous absorption and stability. Many studies have confirmed the skin lightening, photo-protective, and hydrating effects it can have on the skin. Unlike L-Ascorbic acid,  Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate will not exfoliate or irritate the skin. It is well tolerated by even the most sensitive skin types. Also unlike regular Vitamin C , it can be used in high doses, and for up to eighteen months without oxidizing.
