    Chemical properties: Yellow liquid or yellow-green prismatic crystals. Melting point: 28℃, boiling point: 198-199℃, 88℃ (2.26kPa), relative density (20/4℃) 0.885, refractive index (nD21) 1.4968. Soluble in alcohol and ether. Insoluble in water. Uses: Used as solvent. Used in the production of synthetic resins, fibers, pharmaceutical intermediates, lubricant additives, and deodorants. Production method: Obtained by acetone-catalyzed condensation and dehydration. The amount of catalyst sodium hydroxide (or potassium) is 0.12-0.2%, and the reaction is carried out at 200-210℃ for 1-1.5h. The acetone conversion rate is 30-35%, the phorone yield is 65-70%, the diacetone alcohol yield is 16%, the isopropylidene oxide yield is 7%, and the high boiling point yield is 3-7%.
