    Drag Reducing Agent (DRA)

     

    Crude oil drag r educing agent (DRA)  is used in crude oil transportation pipelines to increase pipeline volume and reduce pipeline pressure drop. The active component of the product is ultra-high molecular weight PAO   (polyalphaolefin) , which is suspended in a non-aqueous liquid system in the form of very small solid particles to form a stable suspension emulsion.

    Application:

    D rag  reducing agent   (DRA)  is thermally stable and can be used in in virtually all climatic conditions with an ambient temperature range of -20 to +50°C , DRA is usually injected by metering pumps at the outlet of the booster pumps in pumping stations.

     

    The effect of drag reduction or delivery enhancement is immediately apparent when the drag reducer is injected and is maximized when the dosing medium fills the section of pipe to be boosted or reduced.  

     

    T he dosing medium is more sensitive to shear ( the long polymer chain formed in the dosing medium is easy to break when it is sheared), because the dosing medium will be subjected to high-speed shear when it passes through the pumps, the effect of the drag reducing agent in reducing the drag or increasing the transmission will be greatly reduced after it passes through the pumps, therefore, for the pipeline with multiple pumping stations, the drag reducing agent is often required to be injected into each pumping station separately in order to realize the overall drag reducing or increasing the transmission of the whole pipeline.

    Store at temperatures from -10 to +45°C, e.g. in sealed containers. DRA has an expiration date of 2 years, during which the physical form and effect of the product will remain stable.
