A new environmentally friendly solvent—carboxylic acid diesters (DBE), commonly known as diesters. This oxygen-containing solvent features a high boiling point and strong solvent power, serving as an alternative to solvents such as isophorone, ethylene glycol, propylene glycol ethers, and their esters. It finds extensive application in the coatings industry.

Applications

DBE primarily serves as a solvent and co-solvent in solvent-based coatings. It can be applied in various bake-cure coatings, including interior/exterior can coatings, coil coatings, industrial maintenance coatings, automotive paints, and automotive refinish paints. Additionally, DBE can be used as a component solvent in paint strippers, a solvent for offset and gravure printing inks, and as an ink remover.
