Tricyclodecenyl propionate has a woody and herbaceous aroma, accompanied by floral and fruity aromas, as well as a woody fragrance. The appearance is a colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid. Tricyclodecenyl propionate is a mixture of four isomers. It is widely used in various fragrance formulations in daily chemical fragrances. It is commonly found in surface cleaners, shampoos, deodorants, detergents, soaps, and other fragrances. It is an important synthetic fragrance in the cycloene family. Its aroma is softer than that of tricyclodecenyl acetate. It is suitable for use in combination with other cycloene fragrances. The dosage can be up to 10%. As a floral fragrance, it is mainly used in soap fragrances and cosmetic fragrances. It is especially useful in lavender and fougère formulations. Medium doses can enhance body odor and powdery scent. It also produces good results in other floral fragrances. It is particularly recommended for use in perfumes, soaps, and other household products.
