2,4-DICHLORO-5H-PYRROLO[3,2-D]PYRIMIDINE Use and Manufacturing

A suspension of lH-pyrrolo[3, 2-d]pyrimidine-2, 4(3H, 5H)-dione (0.38 g, 2.52 mmol) in phosphorus oxychloride (30 mL) was heated to 120° for 6 h during which the mixture became clear and homogeneous. The mixture was allowed to cool to room temperature and the excess phosphorus oxychloride was removed in vacuo. The residue was cooled in ice, cold ammonium hydroxide (30 mL, pH=8) was added and the mixture stirred for 30 min. The precipitate was collected and washed with cold water. The solid was dried in vacuo to afford 2, 4-dichloro-5H-pyrrolo[3, 2-d]pyrimidine (0.33 g, 70percent).To pyrrolo[3, 2-d]pyrimidin-2, 4-dione 18 (2.00 g, 13.2 mmol), 1N NaOH (15 mL), and 0.60 g NaOH in 15 mL H5.1.1.2 To pyrrolo[3, 2-d]pyrimidin-2, 4-dione 18 (2.00 g, 13.2 mmol), 1 N NaOH (15 mL), and 0.60 g NaOH in 15 mL H2, 4-Dichloro-5H-pyrrolo [2>, 2-d\ pyrimidineTo a suspension of 5-ben2yl-2, 4-dichloro-5H-pyrrolo[3, 2-rf]pyrimidine (177 mg, 0.64 mmol) in 1, 2-dichlorobenzene (20 mL) was added AlCl
