Ethyl chloroethylcarbamate can be prepared by reacting ethyl chloroformate with cycloethylamine or 2-chloroethylamine. ClCH2CH2NH2+ClCOOC2H5→ClCH2CH2NHCOOC2H5+HCl can also be prepared by reacting chloroethanolamine and ethyl chloroformate as raw materials.
Ethyl chlorocarbamate is an intermediate for the preparation of carbamate insecticide dioxcarb.
