Methyl dichlorothiophosphate Use and Manufacturing
Methyl dichloride is prepared by the direct reaction of phosphorus trichloride and methanol at low temperature. Put a metered amount of phosphorous trichloride into the reaction kettle from a high tank, add a quantitative amount of methanol dropwise at about -10°C under rapid stirring, and control the reaction temperature at (-5±1)°C. After adding methanol, continue to stir at the same temperature for 10 minutes. The reaction solution is pumped into a washing tank containing cold water at about 0°C, and stirred for about 2 minutes. Then the reaction solution is pumped into a separator and left to stand for separation. The resulting oil layer is a Base dichloride.
