Does the enzyme catalase contain sulfur or thiols?
Sure does. Just the binding side of human catalase contains at least 4 cysteines (an amino acid that bears a thiol) and 10 methionines (another amino acid that contains a methyl thio ether). There are another 24 cysteines and 72 methionines in the rest of the enzyme. Below is a pretty picture of the enzyme.
