Does the viscosity of e.g. alkanes increase or decrease if it’s branched? Because I’ve seen being said both yes and no.

Does the viscosity of e.g. alkanes increase or decrease if it’s branched? Because I’ve seen being said both yes and no.
Viscosity of a fluid can be varied by changing the temperature.
Some fluids change their viscosity when you shear them rapidly.
You could also mix in some other material, but maybe that would be considered a different fluid then. I suppose it depends on why you want to vary the viscosity.

The average blood glucose concentration is in the range of 0.7 to 1.4 grams of glucose in every 1 litre of glucose. I have not looked into the scientific data, but I believe even if were as high as 5 gram per litre, it may not increase the viscosity significantly.

As the viscosity increases, vapour pressure decreases and the boiling point increases. Branched chain alkanes, are less viscous than straight chain alkanes and hence have higher vapour pressure and lesser boiling points.
