How do I prepare 1N NaOH in 100ml water?

Butch Black  Follow

We know,N= W/MV

or,W= NMV

= 1×40×0.1

= 4g

i.e.4g NaOH is needed for the preparation of 1N NaOH in 100 ml solution

We know that N=M for NaOH because acidity of NaOH is one.

Molar mass of NaoH = 40

Mole = weight / molecular mass = 40 /40 = 1mole

Ml in litere = 100/1000=0.1 L

So molarity(M) = 1 mole/1 litre = 40 / 1 litre its 1 molerity = 1N normality

If you wanna make it in 100 ml than 4 gm in 0.1 litere

Ans = 4 gm (0.1 mole in 0.1 litre = 1M= 1N)
