I am using the TINKER molecular modeling package developed in the lab of Jay Ponder (https://dasher.wustl.edu/tinker/).

Mr. Atze,
Which program package you are employing? Is it Gaussian?

Implicit solvent models are not good options to study the solvent-dependent behavior of the system. The electrostatic response in the continuum is a prude crude approximation.
Always use explicit solvent such add TIP3P, SPC, OPC water molecules to your system.
