I want to be confident of producing the disodium salt of Bisphenol A (BPA) which is my intermediate product, however it is really hard to characterise that without isolating and separating the compound. Would you mind let me know how can I isolate my disodium salt of BPA ? I normally dissolve the BPA in an organic Solvent (Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO)) and after that I add stoichiometric ratio of NaOH (in a 50% liquid (aqueous) solution) to obtain the disodium salt of BPA. Now my question is how can I measure the amount of this salt? to figure it out I found that the best way id to crystalize the product and after that characterise the product with some analytical instruments, am I right? (I appreciate if you can give me your opinion about this)
Now if the isolation is a good solution to figure out the characteristics of the Disodium salt of BPA, could you please let me know how I can do that? I read in the answers to your question that "Eslam Mekhemer" suggested to use filtration, however - due to the using the stoichiometric ratio of BPA and NaOH - there is not any two phase solution to use a filtration! I can not understand this issue, because I have a clear solution which is a mixture of BPA and NaOH in DMSO as a solvent, so how can I crystalize the disodium salt of BPA?
