I sprayed a garbage can that had maggots with Raid ant/roach spray (it was all l had). They survived. What can I spray to kill them that wont interact with the ant/roach spray?

I have a hard time understanding why so many seem to resort to chemical warfare against insects where there’s just no need for it.
Maggots are very easily killed by drowning. If the water is hot enough it’ll cook ’em before they have time to drown and a drop or two of dish detergent in the water will drown them in moments without any hot water at all.
No poisons necessary, no toxins necessary.
Next time use water and some dish detergent, maybe make it hot water. They’ll be dead in no time and you’ll have a cleaner trash can afterward.
