if you are gonna try it start small, and never quit taking the drugs perscribed by your Dr. If you ever have a problem with it you could always call your doc and tell the truth.

Yeah you get way 2 but coming off might give you a lapse. My worst psychosis was in kratom withdrawal. I had a load of benzos and they did nothingMore

I don't believe so but it has its own addiction and withdrawals. You should read some of the bad stories on quitting kratom in a group on Facebook. I personally took it for about 5 months and didn't have any withdrawals at all which surprised me.I smoked D8 instead and that worked for me.Good luck I just want you to know there's some bad stories about kratom out there along with like saving stories too.

Glad you got off before it was too late. I personally think it’s better than any hard drug. But shouldn’t be taken 3 times everyday like most of us do. I come from the era when they were still comparing it to coffee. Yeah rightMore
When I first started it was 4-8 grams per day then I was at a 8-16 grams a day for 5 months then an ounce a day for a year and quit cold-turkey I had little to no withdrawls. I had to use it or else I would be in severe pain, I have a bad form of chrons disease. I decided to take a break from kratom as it was too much and didn’t have its pain relieving effect anymore. It’s different for everybody. I know some who have crippling withdrawls.More

2-3x a week is a good schedule for keeping tolerance low and not getting dependent on it.
In the past I have had it completely end a manic episode and as I said it's phenomenal for sort of grounding your brain. When I had a really bad lsd comedown from taking it during a phenibut rebound it felt like my thoughts weren't mine and I had very disturbing thoughts, but after kratom I felt sane again and just felt a bit weird mentally, but all disturbing thoughts and paranoia disappeared.More

The problem is, the more it relieves your symptoms, the more dependant you will get. I took it daily for anxiety and had withdrawals with full body shakes, cramps, pain, super runny nose, and horrible mood, together with crazy rebound anxiety. Basicially had to stay in bed for a week until it got better, but I also used a giant amount of extracts, which was comperable to like 20-30 grams a day for a few months. Since then it's effects have significantly lessened, even a few months clean i get almost no euphoria anymore. You will also likely get an effect called "opioid rage", a weird effect when it starts wearing off, where you get really agitated at anything and anyone, so moral of the story is, even if it might help, it probably isn't a good idea for you to use it. But if you're an adult, you can make your own choices, just try to stay away from extracts, cause you can likely overdose on those to the point where it might actually kill you. Stay safe and follow safer use rules. Also NEVER drink Grapefruit juice before kratom, trust me.

I find its almost antipsychotic in a way, but if you push doses too high too quick you can get the opposite effect. It would trigger sleep paralysis, sensations of changing form, visual static and peripheral hallucinations if i used too much. But at lower doses it only reduced my baseline conscious awareness thus reducing psychotic symptoms

Hi there -
I've been a schizophrenic since I was 13 and have struggled most of my adult life with substance abuse, starting with alcohol then marijuana, mushrooms, ecstacy and I've tried kratom.
I'll say getting off marijuana is a good step even though it's really hard, but it's known to increase psychosis and negative symptoms. It wasn't known to me at the time and I ended up really damaging myself with it. I decided to try kratom out of curiosity and it's legal.
I have to say, I had gummies and it tasted terrible. One of the worst things I've tasted and I've tasted some really weird stuff in my life. It took about an hour to kick in and I felt a euphoria but I was still mildly still in control of my consciousness. I struggle with a voice that constantly tells me to do harmful things to myself and it quieted the voice so that was a bonus. It did help with my flat emotions and helped me enjoy a movie, from what I remember. It made me very tired afterwards.
Then, the second time I took it, I upped the dosage, which was a mistake. I thought more substance, better effects, but I should have done the same dosage. From what I recalled the packet only contained 5 gummies and I had taken two the first time. I believe the dosage was for 1/2 a gummy but I have a severe problem with recommended dosage (partially from the voice.)
Usually my high or trip or whatever is dependent heavily on my mood prior or during taking, so I try to get in a good mood by listening to music, art, anything positive. I don't exactly remember what happened that night, probably the voice or intrusive thoughts, but I remember feeling nauseous and in the morning I was screaming and crying because I wasn't able to 'clean my room properly ' or rather to my standards, and I tried to sleep basically on the edge corner of my bed, which was not only ridiculous but uncomfortable and unnecessary. My husband asked what was up with my poor behavior the next morning while shopping, which I felt like I had a hangover during until I chugged a red bull and felt better immediately. I explained what happened and he mentioned I shouldn't have taken that much, and he had seen a few articles online about kratom use and psychosis, which I've had my fair share of horrible psychotic breaks. I haven't put much stock into the stuff until recently, where I've had another break and acted extremely violent and aggressive when drunk. I can get angry while drinking and have decided to try to stop self medicating, but kratom is legal and I've heard other non schizophrenics use the substance to ween themselves off other substances. It also doesn't show up on standard drug tests which is always a bonus.
Ultimately I'd recommend if you do try it, try it at the regular dosage if possible. Do some more research if you can, I am kind of in the same boat you were? I realize this is an extremely late response but if this can be decent information for someone that'd be cool. Reddit might have some more information on it but I don't personally like reddit.
Tl;Dr version: use recommended dose, check with a doctor if able, and beware because they do have claims of increased psychosis.
Hope this helped and hope you are doing well, have fun. :3
