Saline droplet evaporation with DPM in Fluent?
Hi all,
I think the issue has been solved.
First, set water and sodium chloride from 'droplet particle', then define the multicomponent particle by adding the water and sodium chloride.
Second, in the DPM injection panel, set the mass fraction of water and sodium chloride in the multicomponent particle. Then, set water as a vaporizing phase and sodium chloride as a non-evaporating phase.

My particles experiences drop in temperature during its evaporation, is it possible. the droplet cooled to the wet bulb temp of air. then increasing, is that possible?

Hey Renhui Ruan , Thanks for the information you shared above, it’s been so helpful since I am modeling Saliva droplets too. I have downloaded your case file, trying to do the same. Unfortunately, when I was defining NaCl as a droplet particle, the software crashed multiple times! I was wondering if you have defined NaCl droplet properties yourself or you have used the Fluent Database. Thank you in advance.

Interestingly the case is different when the temperature difference between droplet and ambient is high.. droplet temperature increases even the wet bulb temperature of air lesser than the droplet temperature with eoutxperience the temperature drop

You may want to create a UDF for that.

It could be. The heat will lose during evaporation. After the evaporation finished, the particle will warm again by the surrounding air.
