The total volume of combustible liquid in the storage tank of petrochemical regulation 5.2.22 unit is less than 1000 cubic meters. How to understand if it can be arranged in the unit?

First, the total volume is used to determine whether it can be placed in the device. If the total volume is greater than 1000, it cannot be placed in the device. It will become a tank group, which belongs to the storage and transportation tank group of public works. Refer to Chapter 6 for fire separation of tank groups in the unit.More

According to the regulations, when the total volume of the storage tank of the device: liquefied hydrocarbon tank is less than or equal to 100m3, and the combustible gas or liquid tank is less than or equal to 1000m3, it can be arranged in the device. The fire separation between the device storage tank and the equipment and buildings should not be less than the provisions in Table 5.2.1. 1. Methanol is a combustible liquid, and the volume of a single tank is less than 1000m3. The methanol tank can be arranged in the device, and the fire separation shall be in accordance with Table 5.2.1. 2. If the plant site is abundant, it is recommended to design according to the unit tank group and arrange it at the edge of the plant.More

Whether it can be defined as a unit storage tank group depends on its function and purpose first, and then on its volume. If the tank group is used for the storage of liquid raw materials and products of the whole plant or several sets of devices, it must not be used as the device tank group. In other words, the storage tank group of the unit must generally be based on the premise that there is a larger liquid raw material and product tank farm. The so-called "unit storage tank group can be arranged in the unit" means that the unit can be classified as the same fire compartment with the unit served. Even for the tank group of non liquefied hydrocarbon flammable liquid device less than or equal to 1000m3, the 7.5/9/15m fire separation distance with other facilities should be met. See Table 5.2.1 in Petrochemical Regulations for details.More

I have 10 30 m3 methanol tanks, with a total volume of less than 300 m3 and no more than 1000 m3. Can I regard all 10 tanks as unit tanks? Can it be placed in the device without following Chapter 6? My understanding is that more than 1000 cubic meters is defined as a unit tank group, so we should follow Chapter 6, right?More
