What are five examples of double, complex, basic, normal, and acid salts?
We can know that a salt is acidic or basic by checking its acidic and basic radicals , that is, it's cation and anion.
We know thet every salt is prepared from an acid and a base.
If a salt is prepared from a strong acid and a weak base it is acidic.
If a salt is prepared from a weak acid and strong base it is basic
If a salt is prepared from a strong acid and a strong base it is neutral.
If a salt is prepared from a weak acid and a weak base it is neutral.
Now to find out it's source acid and base:
The anion is basic radical. Add H+ to the anion of the salt. And cation is the acidic radical. Add OH- to the cation if the salt. Lets take NaCl for example. It has Na+ cation and Cl- anion.
Adding H+ to Cl- , it becomes HCl. Hence its source acid is HCl which is very strong.
Add OH- to Na+ , it becomes NaOH. Hence its source base is NaOH which is also very strong.
Hence NaCl is neutral.
