What happens when table salt is heated?
When you heat it, you would first reach the melting point at 801°C. It would turn into a liquid, called "molten" salt. When you heat it past its boiling, point, the sodium ions and chloride ions will separate and it will evaporate

Obviously, it will depend what temperature you heat it to. Sodium Chloride melts at around 1000C, depending upon the purity. However, it is unlikely that you will be able to achieve this temperature without specialised equipment. In an ordinary kitchen, all you will get is hot salt.
