What happens when you mix acetone and sulphuric acid?
In addition to the effects M. Dilawaiz listed, the acetone will undergo the aldol reaction to give mesityl oxide (CH3)2C=CHCOCH3 aka 4-methylpent-3-en-2-one, which can further undergo aldol reactions to produce other products, and eventually a polymer.

An excess of concentrated sulphuric acid with acetone will produce 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene. I know, because I did the experiment. 3 moles of water are removed from 3 moles of acetone by the dehydrating effect of the acid.
