What is a monofunctional, bifunctional and polyfunctional monomer?

I've edited your question, because you asked for a monomer, (singular), and a single monomer could not be in all three categories.

Polymers are materials made of long, repeating chains of molecules.

Most polymer chains have a string of carbon atoms as a backbone.

Polymer is classified on the basis of functional group number attached.

In polymer chemistry the functionality monomer means its number of polymerizable group and affecs the formation and the degree of crosslinking of polymers.

A monofunctional- possess one function (Having a single function group).

Bifunctional- which has two functional groups in its every monomer.

Polyfunctional- Having multiple, different or same functional group in the same compound.
