What is the best solvent of naphthalene acetamide?
If you check the PubChem entry below you find this stuff is nearly insoluble in water, as you might expect. Like the related 1-naphthaleneacetic acid it should be soluble in the usual lab solvents: DCM, benzene, toluene, DMSO, DMF, NMP. Your choice will also be influenced by the use – if it is biological then only DMSO and NMP have sufficiently low toxicity.
If you are using it as a synthetic auxin then I would try making a dilute solution in NMP, then adding that dropwise to water with vigorous stirring.
