What is the best solvent to dissolve the lipid, and why?
Well, Elisa, it seems there are several solvents that would do the job. It depends on the circumstances. Lipids are non-polar so they are insoluble in polar solvents like water; but highly soluble in the non-polar or weakly polar organic solvents, including ether, chloroform, benzene, and acetone. In fact, these four solvents are often referred to as "lipid-solvents" or "fat-solvents". Also, ethanol and dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) are used for delivery of lipids to biological systems.

Gasoline… it's non polar in nature and also very volatile
