What is the correct IUPAC name for CuHCO₃?

David Brower  Follow

The copper part of this is in the 1+ oxidation state so it will be referred to as cuprous. The anion is bicarbonate. So, it will be called cuprous bicarbonate. Well, that is what I would call it. But, the IUPAC name for this compound is Copper (I) hydrogen carbonate.
