“Plastomer” is a somewhat confusing term which isn't used much in industry anymore. The preferred term is thermoplastic elastomer, or TPE. Unlike general purpose rubber, which requires chemical cross-linking to form the finished goods, TPE can be melted and cast like a plastic, yet it becomes flexible and tough like rubber when cooled.
