What is the difference between gel tabs and paper hits..tried some 3000mg LSD and was told paper is only 1000mg is that even true?

No, not at all. Lsd is measured in micrograms (ug), not mg. One tab is usually 100-150ug. People who tell you they're dosed higher are probably lying.

1mg would be enough to have you barely conscious and blasted out of reality. It takes a LOT of lsd for an overdose. Hundreds of times the standard dose. 1000mg might actually be enough to cause an overdose. If each tab was $10, then 1000mg would be around $10,000 worth of lsd.

Find a different source. Aside from how they're consumed, the effects will be the same. Test your stuff. You do not want to buy drugs from someone who doesn't even know what they're dosed at.

Jeez, I hope not. That would be quite a dose. Are you talking about a whole sheet, maybe? Usually a dose is around 100 mcg. Micrograms, not milligrams. Owsely’s White Lightning was 270 mcg., but that is far from typical.

Anyway, the substrate has nothing to do with the dose or the purity. All it can tell is whether it’s something that’s floating around now, if it’s a known product. You can make high quality blotter, (paper), and low quality window pane, (gel sheets). Or vice-versa.

But that’s all it is - a substrate. LSD can be made into pills, mixed with Nestle’s Quik and stuffed into capsules, soaked into paper, or mixed with gelatin to form sheets. The quality and dosage vary independently of how it’s presented. Just because one window pane was amazing doesn’t mean a different one will be.
