The products are (1) salt of the metal and the acid (2) carbon dioxide and (3) water.

CaCO3 (s) + 2HCl → CaCl2 (aq) + CO2 (g) + H2O (l)

Thus, when hydrochloric acid is added to calcium carbonate, the products of the reaction are calcium chloride (salt), carbon dioxide and water.

If acetic acid and sodium carbonate are taken, then the products would be sodium acetate (salt), carbon dioxide and water.

They don’t. Copper is less reactive than zinc. If it were the other way round though with zinc in copper nitrate the zinc would be coated with a layer of copper.

Dissolve ZnO in HNO3. You get a Zn(NO3)2 solution. Then add Na2CO3 in to it . There you get Zn(CO3)2 liquid.Don't put Na2CO3 &HNO3 together because CO2 releases by that.

Since you already know that one Zinc nitrate and the other Zinc carbonate, do the simple carbonate test: Add dilute HC to both salts. Zn nitrate will not effervesce (release of gas bubbles); the zinc carbonate will release gas (CO2).

Zn(NO3)2 + HCl => Zn++ NO3 = H+ Cl-(Ions in solutions)

ZnCO3 + 2HCL => ZnNO3 +H2O + CO2

P.S. Don’t worry about getting Hydrochloric if you are not in a lab, a little lemon juice or vinegar will do the trick.

Zinc is more reactive than lead and so the ease of zinc to become an ion is larger than that of lead. Hence, a single displacement reaction occur.

Zn + Pb(NO3)2 -> Zn(NO3)2 + Pb

I believe if you add a carbonate to an acid, you’ll get a salt, water, and carbon dioxide.

Reaction:

ZnCO3 + 2HNO3 -> H2O + CO2 + Zn(NO3)2

How much of a reaction depends on how many moles of each substance you have. If your nitric acid is diluted enough, you may not even notice a reaction because only a few molecules would have collided and reacted.

This is yet another “nothing interesting happens” question. In solution you get zinc ions, Zn2+ plus hydrogen ions H+ and chloride ions Cl-. They are all mutually soluble. No gases are generated. There are no color changes, no smells, no precipitates, nor double displacement reactions.

Edit: …and not forgetting nitrate anion NO3-.

Zinc carbonate reacts with nitric acid to form zinc nitrate solution.
ZnCO₃(s) + 2HNO₃(aq) → Zn(NO₃)₂(aq) + H₂O(ℓ) + CO₂(g)

Zinc nitrate crystals can be obtained by crystallization of the zinc nitrate solution.
