What is the oxidation state of N in N20, NO, N2O3, N2O4, and N2O5?

In N2O, the oxidation state of O is -2. Since N2O is a compound, it's overall state should be 0. Hence, N has an oxidation state of +1. Similarly, in NO, oxidation state of Nitrogen is +2. In the same way, oxidation state of Nitrogen in N2O3 is +3. Oxidation state of Nitrogen in N2O4 is +4.

In general, here are the rules for calculation of O.N. :)
