What is the use of peroxide in the cross linking of silicone rubbers?

These are the two majorly used crosslinking/vulcanising/curing agent.
They are used for creating cross-linked structure between the rubber chains. So better the cross-linked structure better the mechanical properties we achieve.
The advantage of peroxide is that the peroxide forms free radicals during the polymerisation process unlike sulphur which attaches itself in the crosslinking chain.
Peroxide forms free radicals with the rubber monomer and so the monomers attack other monomer free radicals which are highly reactive. Thus creating a far purer polymer chains. So the rubber we obtain from peroxide vulcanisation has better properties.
