What temperature of ONSET Decomposition Temperature in thermal analysis refers to what temperature

David Byrden  Follow
Onset Decomposition Temperature refers to the starting temperature of decomposition.
The starting temperature of decomposition is determined: the sample is decomposed, the TG curve starts from the horizontal level, and the cut line of the horizontal segment curve and the decrease section curve. The temperature corresponding to the intersection of the tangent line is generally determined to be the start temperature of the sample decomposition.

The first floor is right, that is, the initial decomposition temperature.

The initial decomposition temperature is the decrease of the curve. Later, the platform appears. When will the specific decomposition, you have to combine the substance you made, because the weight change may not only be caused by decomposition, and may be dehydrated, adsorption, etc.
