Which is best series of Epoxy resin for natural fiber composite ?
It is very difficult to answer the best series of Epoxy resin for natural fiber composite without knowing the exact application for which you want to use epoxy resin. However, you can use the following: 1. LY 556 along with HY951 owing to it being a medium viscosity epoxy and chemicals resistivity which it provide. It is known for exceptional mechanical strength , good fiber impregnation and thermal & dynamic properties. Also, the LY 556 is having a low tendency to crystallize, that’s why it is preferred for aircraft and aerospace adhesives.
2. SW 404 along with HY2404 owing to its incredible mechanical strength, abrasion & chemical resistivity and good hardness. The solution is suitable for copy-milling models, foundry patterns, tools, foaming & concrete-casting molds and several other industrial applications.
3. Araldite AW106 along with Hardener HV953IN is an excellent strength epoxy adhesive for bonding rubber, wood, glass, plastic and other substrates. Suitable for most of the industrial use, the hardener is used by customers for room temperature curing and formulating paste adhesives. The hardener is a multi-purpose solution and offers good toughness, resilience, good shear & peel strength and resistivity to dynamic loading conditions.
4. Aradur 450 Epoxy Resin offers exceptional adhesion and outstanding corrosion protection to the wet concretes . its application is for high mortar stability, slight flexibility and good working properties.

We have worked on various natural fibre reinforced composites by using both epoxy and polyester resins.
For epoxy-based composites, LY 556 along with HY951 are used as a matrix material. For polyester-based composites, Polyester resin, catalyst-methyl ethyl
ketone peroxide (MEKP) and accelerator-cobalt octoate are used.
