Why does pyridine not give a Friedel craft reaction?
This is because the lone pair of nitrogen doesn't take place in resonance with the benzene ring in pyridine. Hence in Friedel Crafts reaction when the Lewis acid is added it accepts the lone pair of the nitrogen atom. And thus forming an addition product. And as a result the electrophile is unable to generate. And hence couldn't take part in Friedel Crafts reaction.
