How can I remove dimethyl sulfate after reaction completion?

What are you making and what are your reaction conditions? I have never used this reagent, but wouldn't it convert to methanol and sulfuric acid upon addition of water? Can you add water to your product?

If you are using this material to make fabric softener, of course you will need to obtain first the lowest possible residual amine and then add minimal amount of some amino acid; eg. glycine will do. This will make sure that DMS has been removed completely. This material tho is very unstable at higher tmperature and in the presence of moisture.
