What is the method for analysis of free silica in iron ore?

sorry, don't know. You may want to ask a geochemist for this.

Thank you Walther Sir,
I am looking for one wet chemical quantitative method.
One method is available for Fly ash. First silicates are selectively dissolved with Hydroflosilicic acid leaving the free silica. In the second step free silica is determined by hydroflorization with HF.
Is this method is applicable for iron ore?

Hello Binod, probably not so easy: both contain silicon dioxide. While silica is pure SiO_2, silicates contain (SiO_4)4- groups plus counter cations to make them charge neutral. So you would have to cut and polish a thin section of your ore, stick it into an analytical SEM and see whether you can find any cations other than Si in the grains, using EDX (EDS) or WDX (EPMA) spectroscopy.
